BBC Inshore Waters This is the BBC inshore waters forecast. Most of the clubs' diving will be covered by the 'Lands End to St Davids Head including the Bristol Channel' section. This page is useful for converting wind mph to Beaufort Scale and knots.
BBC Welsh Tides This is the BBCs' page for Welsh Tides. It only looks forward for a maximum of seven days.
WindGuru This site was really designed for surfers and kite surfers but gives good wind direction and speed information, as well as wave height and direction, for some beaches near diving areas. Link should default to Freshwater West, which is just outside Milford Haven.
Milford Haven Tides This is a link to a pdf document being Milford Haven Port Authorities' tide tables for the whole of 2012. The pages also give some shipping information.
Easy Tide Use the free predictions section for your chosen port. This is from the UK Hydrographic Office. The free service only allows you to look forward seven days.
Weather Buoys There are two weather buoys off Pembrokeshire that give useful information about wave height and wind direction etc. These are the "Pembroke Buoy" off Linney Head and buoy "Station 62094" which is out in the St George's Channel towards the SE corner of Ireland.
Skomer Buoy - currently not working 05.01.12 There is a monitoring buoy off Skomer which measures water temperature, salinity, turbidity, etc. It can be accessed on this link - link not working currently 05.01.12. Check that the readings shown on the web page are up to date.

SAA logo The Sub Aqua Association is an overseeing body which ensures standards of safety, management and training across all member clubs. The SAA has a federal structure, its' member clubs maintaining considerable autonomy.
Cardiff Underwater Sub Aqua Association affiliated club number 120 is Cardiff Underwater, with which the Dolphins share some dives, facilities and activities.
Llantrisant Sub-Aqua Club logo Sub Aqua Association affiliated club number 349 is Llantrisant Sub-Aqua Club. Based at Llantrisant leisure centre they are the nearest neighbouring club to the west along the M4.
WASAC The Welsh Association of Sub Aqua Clubs. WASAC is recognised by the Sports Council as the governing body for all underwater sports in Wales and has a duty to liaise with various groups and institutions on behalf of its member clubs.
NARC Logo Initiated in Pembrokeshire Neptune's Army of Rubbish Cleaners are dedicated to clearing the rubbish out of our seas and dive sites. Have a look at their website and support them if you can.
PADI The Professional Association of Diving Instructors is a commercial training organisation which is not backed up by a club structure. Many PADI trained divers subsequently join SAA clubs in order to continue their diving. PADI is an international organisation and their training qualifications are recognised all around the world.
BSAC The British Sub Aqua Club is probably the oldest club based diving organisation in the world and has a similar training structure to the SAA, although the club and management structure is different.
Cave Diving Group The Cave Diving Group is the oldest group of 'technical divers' in the world and has a divisional structure with 'Welsh', 'Northern', 'Derbyshire' and 'Somerset' sections. Members specialise in using a mixture of caving and diving techniques and equipment to explore flooded caves and mines around the UK and abroad.

Cromhall Quarry This dive-site is still in the early stages of development. Cromhall Quarry has depths down to 20m and is an ideal training site. It is only a couple of miles east from junction 14 of the M5 motorway.
NDAC Logo The National Diving and Activity Centre (NDAC) on the A48 just east of Chepstow, open from Thursday to Sunday each week. Depths to 80m! This is the nearest inland dive centre to Cardiff. A map of the diving attractions is available on their site.
Stoney Cove This 13 acre lake in an old stone quarry in the heart of Leicestershire, near Stoney Stanton, offers depths down to almost 40m and several good underwater attractions.
Vobster Quay Logo Vobster Quay is five miles from Frome in Somerset and is also a flooded stone quarry offering depths to 40m. This is an attractive dive site, with 36 acres of water and many underwater attractions to explore including the remains of the old crushing works. They also have ducks and rainbow trout. Bristol Channel Diving Services Cardiff's premier dive shop. Equipment servicing, air and mixed gas, new and used equipment for sale, stockist for several major equipment brands. They also do technical training in various flavours.
Haven Diving Services A new venture in Milford Haven provided by Ceri Jones (of SAA / Llantrisant Divers) and friends. They provide gas fills, repairs and servicing and are usefully positioned for divers launching at Gelliswick. Tricky to find; get behind Tescos where there are some modern business units and ascend a short hill to turn right amongst some older non-descript white buildings. Haven Diving Services are in the gated unit in the corner; "HDS" on the wall by the door.
West Wales Dive Company Karen's new business running diving out of Little Haven and Broad Haven. Air fills available at weekends at Monty's farm; see the services section of their website here.
Heathfield Country House B&B Heathfield Country House Bed and Breakfast is a comfortable place to stay in north Pembrokeshire, convenient for Fishguard and launching sites at Porthgain and Goodwick. Diver friendly.

Caving? Fancy trying caving? Cardiff's local caving club is the Morgannwg Caving Club, which meets on Wednesday evenings from about 9.20pm, sometimes in the Oyster Catcher (CF64 1SB) and Sometimes in the Windsor (CF64 1JE) - both pubs in Penarth. For further information contact them via their website (or contact the webmaster on this site using the contact form). The club includes cavers of all interests (including cave divers) and novices are very welcome.
Yorkshire Divers Yorkshire Divers is THE on-line social networking site for divers (from all over the world, not just Yorkshire). The forums are full of useful and less useful information and comment about diving... People have been lost in there for days!
Finstrokes Finstrokes is a growing website containing lots of diving information, particularly an increasing reference library of dive site details. There is also a forum which you can join to discuss anything relating to diving. The site has a Scottish bias but increasingly includes information from all around the UK.
