How Do I Join?
We recommend that you contact us and arrange to come along to meet us, perhaps at our pub session on a Thursday night and then in the pool the week following.
We can arrange for diving equipment to be available so that you can try scuba in the swimming pool, just so that you can get a feel for what it's like.
If having met us you would like to join the initial joining fee is £*** (2009). This figure includes the cost of your initial registration with the SAA and the cost of obtaining a log book. The membership fee reduces in subsequent years, as initial administrative costs do not have to be met again (the existing member renewal fee is £110 in 2009).
There is a reduced membership fee for children under the age of 18; £60 in 2009.
You do need to be reasonably healthy to dive and there are a few medical conditions that can prevent you diving. New members will need to complete a medical declaration and will need to have had a diving medical check-up with a specialist doctor before diving in open water outside the swimming pool.
Already a diver? Join and transfer to the appropriate level of SAA qualification; the equivelent levels of the different training organisations qualifications are shown here.
We are particularly keen to encourage new members who own powerful 4WD vehicles with tow-balls. :o)
We look forward to hearing from you!
